Starting Small: The Power Of Taking Action

Starting Small: The Power of Taking Action

In the last three weeks, I’ve had the privilege of running two camps with young people, focusing on financial literacy, the importance of money management, and, of course, entrepreneurship. These camps were not just about theory; they were about action, getting up and getting things done. And what these kids achieved in just eight days was nothing short of remarkable.

Get Up and Get It Done: The Entrepreneurial Mindset

At the start of each camp, the participants were divided into teams and tasked with presenting a comprehensive business plan. They came up with innovative ideas, created business plans, designed logos, developed social media strategies, crafted flyers, made ads, built websites, analyzed competitors, identified their ideal clients, and even explored how to incorporate AI and social entrepreneurship into their businesses. All of this in just eight days!

Seeing these young entrepreneurs in action reminded me of a crucial lesson: start where you are with what you have. We often make excuses about not having enough time or resources. The truth is, those are just obstacles we create for ourselves. Perfection is a myth. Your first attempt won’t be perfect, and that’s perfectly fine. The important thing is to put your offer out there.

I had a conversation with a client recently who was hesitant to launch her first program. She was caught up in the details, trying to get everything perfect. I told her the same thing I’m telling you now: you won’t know if it’s perfect until you put it out there. Once people start engaging with your offer, you can gather feedback, make adjustments, and improve. That’s how you learn and grow.

As an entrepreneur, you are in charge. You decide how you price your products, how you show up, what you say, and how you engage with your audience. If something doesn’t work, adjust it. It might be a small tweak or a significant change, but the key is to keep moving forward. Stop procrastinating and overthinking. Start small, with a beta group if necessary, and get feedback. Use that feedback to make your offer better and try again. This iterative process is how successful businesses are built.

Building Momentum: Consistency is Key

I’ve started all my coaching programmes with a beta group. I deliver the offer, gather feedback, make tweaks, and put it out again. This process continues until I have a polished offer that resonates with my audience. You can do the same with your products or services. Put out the offer, stop procrastinating, and start working on it.

Implement what you’ve learned. If you’ve taken training on pricing for profit, content creation, marketing, or logistics, use that knowledge. You don’t need to implement everything at once, but start with something. Focus on building an engaged audience and selling every day. Visibility and sales should be your primary focus. As you sell, you can improve your systems and processes in the background.

Entrepreneurial Mindset

Many entrepreneurs struggle to grow their businesses because they focus too much on perfecting the backend and not enough on building an audience and selling. Put your offers out there every day. Engage with your audience, build relationships, and sell. This is how you grow your business and increase your revenue.

Working with young people in these camps, some as young as ten or eleven has shown me that they understand this concept. They didn’t know everything, but with the guidance they received, they started their businesses. They learned about money, finances, and the various elements that make a business viable. They put together business plans in just eight days, and while those plans weren’t perfect, they started with the information they had.

If these kids can do it, what’s stopping you? You have more tools and resources than an eleven-year-old. Start where you are. If you’ve already started your business and feel stuck, take the next step. Whether it’s putting out a new offer or raising your prices, go ahead and do it. You are in charge. Do the big things that make you uncomfortable until you get comfortable, then challenge yourself again.

Let’s get it done. If you have questions or need support, feel free to reach out. I’m here to help you grow your business, attract your ideal clients, and increase your revenue. I can’t wait to see what you accomplish!
